Euphorbia epithymoides ‘Midas’
Euphorbia epithymoides ‘Midas’: Formerly known as E. polychroma this is one of the earliest flowering Euphorbia species in the garden, forming low mounds of the most vibrant acid green flowers – it is truly a highlight of early May. This selected cultivar is a significant improvement of the straight species and was recommended by the National Collection Holder Don Witton. Euphorbia ‘Midas’ seems more branching and vigorous, with more flowers and lovely red Autumn tints to follow. Plant with vibrant lily flowered tulips such as orange ‘Ballerina’ and lilac honesty, or with Phlox divaricata ‘Clouds of Perfume’,perennial Violas and scarlet red or orange Geums for a late Spring riot of colour.
