Astrantia major ‘Ruby Star’

Astrantia major ‘Ruby Star’ was bred for the cut flower industry originally but has proven to be a truly excellent garden worthy variety too – forming large clumps with rich dark maroon flushed foliage and large slightly fluted glowing maroon red flowers. Always admired in the garden where it combines with scarlet red geums and rich red bearded iris.
